Detroit Puts Some Pepp in Their Step

Basic geography tells us that you’d have to be a moron to go through Miami and Oakland to get from Minnesota to Detroit, but it seems as if that is the exact route retired QB Daunte Culpepper is about to complete when he signs with the Lions this week.

If you drafted him in 2004 (Ryan), you were absolutely guaranteed a playoff berth, and pretty much assured to end up in the money, if not win the whole enchirito, but since his knee injury midway through the 2005 season, he just hasn’t been the same.

In spite of that, we here at F&L fully support Culpepper’s return to the NFL and wish him well in Detroit. It’s too bad that Dallas snatched up Roy Williams, but he’s got some weapons, he’s back in the NFC North, he’s back in a domed stadium…shit, this could actually turn out to be real good for the Lions…Detroit in Miami in February 2010 anybody?
