Did anyone else see the last play of the Steelers V Chargers game yesterday?
Well, I did, and I am still pissed off.
Head Referee, Scott Green, made (what I consider to be) the worst call in the history of the NFL.
He claims that there was an illegal forward pass, which, at first, he claimed was declined as a penalty, then, almost immediately, changed his mind and said that there was no more time left on the clock and the game was over, 11-10 PIT.
Now, can you decline an illegal forward pass? No.
WAS THERE AN ILLEGAL FORWARD PASS? NO.
NOW, watching ESPN Firsttake this morning, they are saying that Green was confused about WHICH pass they were talking about.
Well, Scott, IT DOESN’T MATTER WHICH FUCKING PASS, BECAUSE NONE OF THEM WERE ILLEGAL.
Please fire Scott Green. His crew can be docked a game check, but Mr. Green does not know the rules of the game and has become an embarrassment to the league. Please, do it quickly…and on television.
**UPDATE** ESPN is now reporting that Green informed Troy Palomalu, after the game, that the TD should have counted. Mr. Green owes a lot of people a lot of $$ (to the tune of $64 MILLION).
On the lighter side of things, Ed Hochuli…looks like you’re off the hook!
**UPDATE 2** Bob has brought other Scott Green fuck-ups to my attention. The man obviously doesn’t deserve to be an Official in the NFL, so the fact that he is an actual Referee is ridiculous. He basically lucked his way into that position after an injury to the head of his officiating crew in 2004. Unfortunately, instead of demanding his resignation, the League is talking about allowing Refs to go back under the hood for a SECOND TIME. Good thinking boys…
